I am upgrading a client from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit. There are 4 workstations and a server that share 2 Epson impact printers.

LQ 590 and LQ 570e. There are no available driver downloads at all for windows 7. Will the vista 64 bit drivers work? Other forums lead me to believe that Windows Update should find them, but I'm not certain.
Will my clients need to buy 2 new impact printers? If so, can you recommend good impact printers? The best option would be to have the old impact printers work with Windows 7, but a backup idea is always good.
I use Windows Update to get drivers for printers if the manufacturer does not provide them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. That said, the Windows 8 has no Windows drivers for the printers above. To see if you can get drivers on your Windows 7 machine, do the following:Open Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Existing Connection and Next. See the Windows Printer Update button beside Have Disk. Run the Update. This takes a while. Do not add the printer at this point.
Once the update is done, cancel out, restart and then try adding the printer. The printer is probably too old at this point, and I have not seen any impact printers recently. So then (a) you probably need to eliminate the need for impact printers and (b) you may be able to use XP Mode for Windows 7 (free from Microsoft) and run the printer in XP mode.
